AKEYLA TANKSLEY

With a passion for capturing the thrill of sports through video and digital media, Akeyla brings a unique perspective to every project. Before college, this passion took shape in high school where she led media and film for her school. Outside of class, you could probably find her tagging along with her friends to practice, watching their discipline and commitment as they chased their dreams of going D1, dreams that became reality. She saw firsthand how sports became a way out for many—a path to overcome challenges, break cycles, and succeed in the real world. This experience gave her a deep appreciation for the dedication and drive that fuels athletic success.

Drawing on firsthand experience and a natural understanding of collegiate athletics and creative direction, Akeyla’s work captures the essence of athleticism while telling the stories that unfold both on and off the field. Her artistic vision extends beyond sports photography, highlighting athletes’ personal journeys, team dynamics, and the community spirit that surrounds sports. This multifaceted approach allows her to create emotionally resonant stories that connect with audiences on a deeper level.

Currently a third year Pre-Law student, Akeyla aspires to become a sports and entertainment attorney, combining her passion for athletics with a strong foundation in law and marketing. In the future, she aims to represent professional athletes and others with similar stories of hard work and perseverance who navigate systems built against them, advocating for fairness and empowering people to be changemakers.
